Three planes will soon be purchased, according to Sudan Kirati, minister of culture, tourism, and civil aviation. Tenzin Norbu Lama, President of the Association of Kailash Tour Operators, stated that the number of Nepalese visitors participating in the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has increased dramatically since the tour was allowed to Nepalis. He said that just 500 people traveled to Kailash from Nepal in May. According to Lama, many Indian visitors wish to travel on the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra in June. He estimated their number to be between two and three thousand. It has now been agreed that PCR and vaccination resorts would no longer be necessary to visit Kailash Mansarovar. The Nepal-China Friendship  Dragon Boat Race Festival  is going to be held for the first time in Pokhara. The festival is being organized with the target of attracting Chinese tourists to Nepal while strengthening the cultural and people-to-people relations between the two countries. The boat race is being organized at the joint initiative of Nepal Tourism Board, Chinese Embassy in Nepal and Pokhara Metropolitan City. Preparations have started for the festival to be held on June 23 and 24 at the  Fewa Lake .  Chairperson of Pokhara Tourism Council, Pomnarayan Shrestha, said that eight special boats from China have been brought to Pokhara for the boat race to be held under the festival.   One and a half lakh rupees were collected from Pokhara's Ratna Mandir, which was reopened to the general public and tourists after a decade and a half of closure. According to the Ministry of Tourism, the Ratna Mandir, which opened to the public on May 29th of last year, has experienced an increase in the number of domestic and foreign travelers. Ratna Mandir, named after the Nepal Trust, charges 100 rupees for domestic visitors and 1000 rupees for foreign visitors to enter.   A test flight of  paragliding   has been started at Sataun Kot of Putlibazaar-14, Syangja. As part of the process to study the feasibility of paragliding in different places of the district, a test flight was conducted on Thursday from Sataun Kot. One can fly from Sataun Kot and land at any of the edges of Putalibazar-11, Rangkhola-11 and 13. President of Babu Adventure Club Jung KC said that the test flight was carried out with the support and management of Babu International Paragliding School, Babu Adventure Club, Technical Management of Roadside Paragliding and Putli bazaar Municipality. "The test flight of paragliding has been successful and we will gradually prepare for commercial flight," said KC.
