Lumbini Province Aims for Self-Reliance Through Tourism on World Tourism Day

 On the occasion of World Tourism Day, the Lumbini Province government has introduced an ambitious plan to make the province self-reliant by harnessing the power of tourism. Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya shared his message of best wishes, emphasizing the province’s commitment to developing tourism as a means of boosting economic growth and improving the living standards of its citizens.



'Travel Lumbini' Concept for Self-Reliance

At the heart of the province's strategy is the 'Travel Lumbini' concept, aimed at establishing Lumbini as a hub for income generation and sustainable development through tourism. Chief Minister Acharya highlighted that tourism is being positioned as a key pillar for economic self-reliance, with efforts focusing on creating job opportunities and uplifting the local population.


Lumbini Tourism Circuit: Connecting 12 Districts

The government is actively working on the development of the Lumbini Tourism Circuit, which aims to connect important tourism destinations across the 12 districts of the province. This circuit is designed to attract both domestic and international tourists, showcasing the region’s unique natural resources, biodiversity, and rich cultural heritage.


Diverse Cultural and Natural Attractions

Lumbini Province is home to a diverse array of castes, religions, cultures, and natural resources, all of which play a crucial role in its tourism promotion efforts. Chief Minister Acharya emphasized that these elements, along with the province's rich biodiversity, form the foundation for making Lumbini a top tourist destination.

As Lumbini Province celebrates World Tourism Day, the government’s focus on tourism-driven economic growth underscores the potential of the sector to transform the region. With initiatives like 'Travel Lumbini' and the Lumbini Tourism Circuit, the province is on its way to becoming self-reliant, using its rich cultural and natural heritage as the cornerstone for sustainable development.
