Water hyacinth removed from Phewa Lake

  Tourism entrepreneurs have become active to remove water hyacinth after Phewa Lake  becomes ugly due to water hyacinth.  Different organisations, security personnel and tourism entrepreneurs of Pokhara have  started removing the water hyacinth, which spreads towards east from west part of the Phewa Lake during rainy season every year.  A total of 10 trucks of water hyacinth were removed from Phewa Lake this morning with the participation of tourism entrepreneurs, security personnel, different organisations related to tourism and students at the coordination of Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal, Gandaki Province, said Chairperson of TAAN, Gandaki, Dharma Raj Panthi.  Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, Dhan Raj Acharya, said considering the problems facing by tourists and pilgrimage for boat ride in Phewa Lake and visiting Talbarahi Temple due to water hyacinth,  a campaign to remove water hyacinth has been organised every week with the coordina...

117 wild animals found dead in Chitwan National Park in last fiscal year

    At least 117 wild animals were found dead in Chitwan National Park in the last Fiscal Year (FY). Different 17 types of wildlife were found dead in the national park and community forest in the bufferzone. Information Officer at CNP, Ganesh Prasad Tiwari shared that the majority of the wildlife was found dead due to natural reasons. As many as 80 animals died due to natural causes while 26 animals died after dog bites. In the period, 55 spotted deer, 22 one-horned rhino, nine Gharial crocodile, seven antelope and three tigers and wild buffalo each were found dead in and around the area. Likewise, elephants, two wild boar, magar crocodile, ratuwa, porcupine, jackal, dhanesh, laguna and leopard were also found in the area, he informed. According to the CNP data, a total of 142 wild animals were rescued during the period.

20,267 visitors visited Manang in last FY

  The number of foreign visitors in the Himalayan district of Manang grew in fiscal year 2022/23. Last year, there were 20,267 visitors to Manang. According to Lekhnath Gautam, the head of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) Manang, the number of foreign visitors visiting the district has increased due to the Annapurna Trail, which ranks 10th in the world. According to him, 843 visitors from SAARC nations and 19 thousand 424 visitors from other countries entered the country in fiscal year 2022/23. According to Gautam, the majority of visitors who visit Nepal arrive in Manang. He stated that 12,779 males, 7,485 women, and three additional visitors visited Manang. He stated that the Annapurna trail is considered dangerous. Because Manang is rich in natural beauty, travelers who come here can see the mountain range and the snow lake up close, according to Gautam, the head of ACAP. Nearly three lakh tourists visited CNP in last FY

In the last fiscal year 2022/23, 299,412 tourists visited Chitwan National Park. This is the highest number ever. According to Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the park's information officer, there are 2,05,605 Nepalese, 55,872 foreigners, and 37,935 tourists from SAARC nations among those who have visited the park. Tourism generated 229.3 million in revenue in the previous fiscal year. In the fiscal year 2021/22, 1,90,458 visitors visited the park. This year, 114.9 million in revenue were received. Similarly, when 98,928 tourists arrived in 2020/21, 35 million were revenue collected. In the fiscal year 2019/20, 1,82,435 visitors visited the park. In that year, 199.2 million in revenue were collected. Nepalis pay Rs 150 to enter the park, while visitors from SAARC nations pay Rs 1,000 and those from other countries pay Rs 2,000. 

HAN Launches 'Breathtaking Bhaktapur'

IRD prepares procedure for five percent tax on foreign tour

  The Foreign Tourism Charges Procedure, 2080, has been issued by the Department of Inland Revenue (IRD). Section 22 of the Economic Act of 2080 states that a 5% foreign tourism tax will be levied on payments made by Nepali visitors traveling overseas for tourism. The department has issued a method for implementing the aforementioned law. The procedure states that "foreign tour package sellers will have to charge 5% of the amount paid by Nepali tourists going for tourism abroad during the sale of the package," and that "firms or companies will charge 5% of the expenses incurred when taking natural persons related to them on a foreign tour in the course of business promotion." Fees must be levied at a percentage rate.' Number of passengers on Lumbini cable car increased after ticket price reduced

  After reduce the prior ticket price to half the price for Wednesday, the number of passengers boarding the Lumbini cable car more than doubled on the first day. Every Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the cable car has a 'Morning Offer' with a 50% discount on ticket purchases. Previously, the cable car had an average of 500 passengers per day, but on the first day of the 'Morning Offer,' 996 individuals arrived in 3 hours, according to Operation Manager DN Kayastha. Kayastha stated that this is an off-season and that this deal has been extended till the middle of August in order to meet public demand. This cable car, the first in Lumbini province, was completed on May 29th at a total cost of 5 billion under the of IME Group. The normal ticket price for the cable car's two-way travel is 750 rupees, however the 'Morning Offer' is only 375 rupees. This promotion is valid until the end of August.
